Levamisole HCl (Finished product) Assay (By UV)
Standard Preparation: Take 50 mg of Levamisole HCl WS in 100 ml volumetric flask, add 50
ml of 0.01M HCl, sonicate to dissolve Levamisole HCl completely and dilute to
100 ml with 0.01M HCl. Take 1 ml of the solution in 50 ml volumetric flask and
dilute to 50 ml with 0.01M HCl. (10 mcg/ml)
Sample Preparation: Weigh powder equivalent to 50 mg of
Levamisole HCl in 100 ml volumetric flask, add 50 ml of 0.01 M HCl, sonicate for 5 min to dissolve
Levamisole HCl completely and dilute to 100 ml with 0.01 M HCl.
Shake and filter through whatman filter paper no.41.
Dilute 1.0 ml of the filtrate with 0.01 M HCl to 50 ml to get final concentration 10 mcg/ml.
Measure the absorbance of standard and sample solution at the maxima at 214 nm using 0.01 M HCl as blank.
Calculate
the content of Levamisole HCl by comparison of sample and standard.
