1. Description: Folding cartons are small to medium sized
cardboard boxes made from paper board.
The paperboard are cellulose derived substrate, with
thickness generally greater than 200 mm which are made from virgin and recycled fiber. They
are used to package a wide range of products because of the ability to satisfy the function
of protecting and utility. Protection from the crushing, bending, contamination, grease etc. The advantage
of this board is safe, easy to handle, easy to dispose material. The board is
eco friendly to nature. printing of folding cartons by offset printing and
gravure printing process. Post printing use UV coating and lamination. A
certificate of analysis is accompanied with each supply.
2. Types of paper boards used for cartons:
White lined chip board : Multi layer boards consisting of 60-100% of
recycled fiber. Top layer produced either with high grade white preprint waste
paper or bleached chemical pulp. Middle & Back layer is made of waste
paper. Basic weight ranges from 200-600 GSM.
Extremely good smoothness

Solid bleached board : Produced entirely from bleached chemical pulp.
Surface is double coated & back is either uncoated or lightly coated. Available
in 200-600 GSM. Suitable for all types of printing processes.

3. Types of cartons:
3.1 Inner cartons: Primary packaging contains the smallest
quantity of product for final product. Multicolor and Various Size &
Types Mono Cartons is mainly used for packing blister and strip. These are designed
using printed sheets paper board. The customer should feel a sense of
satisfaction right from the feel of packaging. Primary packaging aims mainly at
marketing purposes. Package should reflect the functionality of product.
3.2 Outer cartons: It is packaging outside primary packaging, usually
used to group primary packaging. Folding cartons provide excellent secondary
protection for individually packaged products as well as multiple unit packs.
For multiple unit packs, the carton can be designed as a dispenser carton by including
a perforated area into the carton. The user exposes the product for easy
removal by their customer using the perforated section.
3.3 Cartons style:

4.0 Test parameters:
Text matter: Compare text matter of sample with approved
artwork.
Acceptance criteria: Text matter should be as per approved artwork
Colour: Check the colour of sample with approved shade
card. The colour shade should match with approved shade card.
Acceptance criteria: Shade should be as per approved shade card.
Pasting: Side pasting should not open easily.
Dimension: Measure dimensions with calibrated measuring
scale.

Weight: Weigh the carton on weighing balance.

Grammage:
Cut the sample in 10cm x 10cm piece or suitable measured
scale, weigh it and calculate the Grammage with following formula
